Notes on Taxonomy
- The type is Grammoptera spinosula Mulsant (= Leptura humeralis Schaller) (Gressitt designation, 1951).
- Casey (1913) was apparently unaware of Mulsant's genus Cortodera, and refers to his species as belonging to a new genus, Leptacmaeops Casey, 1913: 219 (type: Leptura proteus Kirby)
Type Specimen Photos
Many of the cortoderan types are held at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology, and viewable online. Additionally, images of the type specimens for each species have been made available on Larry Bezark's Photographic Catalog of the Cerambycidae of the World.
