SUMMARY
Neobellamira Swaine & Hopping, 1928:15
delicata delicata (LeConte, 1874:68)
Neobellamira is a monotypic genus consisting of N. delicata, which has two allopatric subspecies on the west coast of North America. N. delicata delicata (LeConte, 1857) ranges from Western Oregon south to San Luis Obisto County, California, and from Mt. Shasta along the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. N. delicata australis Linsley and Chemsak, 1976, is restricted to the mountains of Southern California.
Diagnosis. The greatly constricted elytra and bell-shaped pronotum of this genus make it unmistakable among the Pacific Northwestern lepturine fauna.
Biology
The host plants for N. delicata delicata were reported by Linsley and Chemsak (1972) to be Juglans regia and J. californica. The same authors also report that adults are apparently attracted to codling moth baits.
